Here it is, the promised easy-peasy recipe for yummy bars that even non-bakers can produce. I’ll keep this short and it is already sweet.
Babe Ruth Bars ready to eat and gift
Babe Ruth Bars
1/2 Cup white sugar
1/2 Cup brown sugar
1 Cup white corn syrup
Bring the above to a boil and then add
1 Cup peanut butter
1 Cup peanuts
6 Cups cornflakes
- Press quickly into a jellyroll pan
- Immediately top with 6 Hershey bars or 12 oz.
- Spread the chocolate when melted.
- Cut into bars when chocolate has cooled.
- Store in tins
It doesn’t take much more than buying the cute tins shown in the first photo at the dollar store, lining them with waxed paper, filling with the bars and for an added touch, print a label and stick it on the bottom to share the wealth with family and friends. It makes a perfect present for gatherings of unknown numbers of guests that might gift you, couples, dinner invitations, last minute parties, teacher gifts or office celebrations. I’m sure you can think of a few other uses. Don’t worry, you may also eat them all yourself!
